 ICE FISHING GUIDE SERVICE
The opportunities for ice fishing on Lake Superior & the surrounding inland lakes are endless. Chequamegon Bay fishing can be better through the ice than at any other time of the year. Deep water jigging, "bobbing" for Lake Trout is an experience found few other places in the world. It was developed here, is unique and can be very productive. Ciscoes, or Bluefin Lake Herring are another popular species found here. They provide consistent action and sight fishing opportunities. Depending on the time of winter & the species being sought, opportunities exist for catching Splake, Brown Trout, Steelhead, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Whitefish, Walleye, Northern Pike, Burbot & every sort of Panfish imaginable, including Smelt. Appropriate dress is a must because the weather out on the Big Lake Ice can be brutal! We use Clam & FishTrap Portable Shelters to follow the bite... Vexilar electronics & StrikeMaster Ice Augers. Captain Craig has been a ProStaffer with the IceTeam Powersticks since their inception.
ALL parties need to bring their own ice transportation; Snowmobile is preferable, or 4 Wheeler. Secure tightly all shacks and gear, conditions can be rough on Lake Superiors ice. Hard hitches reccommended. The last thing you need is a gear failure out there. Come Prepared! Machine rental is available in Iron River, and there is always the walk out option during certain times of the year.
